Client Needs:
The developer needed to route a generator lead line to the closest point of grid interconnection for their 190MW wind farm. Kleinschmidt assisted in the risk analysis of a secondary route after local ordinances in a neighboring town forced the abandonment of the original proposed route. Kleinschmidt assisted in public meetings with the local municipalities for the secondary route which ultimately resulted in favorable town votes to enter into community benefit agreements with the developer.

Kleinschmidt Solution:
Kleinschmidt worked with the client to analyze the secondary route and assisted in planning efforts to acquire and obtain local approvals, allowing the client to submit state and federal permits. Kleinschmidt also provided meeting facilitation, stakeholder outreach, and assisted negotiations of the community benefit agreements.

Client Benefits:
Client obtained local approvals important to the overall success of the project and allowed the client to file applications with the state and USACE. Kleinschmidt provided the public outreach and support that helped inform the public that ultimately voted to support the generator lead line portion of the project through entering into community benefit agreements with the developer.
