Energy Analysis

Depending on project specific needs and objectives, Kleinschmidt utilizes a variety of energy analysis techniques, from traditional flow duration curves to daily average flow computer models to appropriately calculate the potential generation, capacity, and ancillary services for both existing and potential alternatives.  

To determine the market value of the generation and ancillary services, our team can work closely with our clients to determine anticipated power and capacity values. Values can derive from publicly available wholesale energy rates, potential power purchasers, and the applicability of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and governmental credits and grants. Additionally, as part of this analysis we will examine the value of ancillary services that may add revenue such as spinning and long-term reserve generating options, the ability to provide peak period generation, area regulation services, and displacing retail purchased power.
