Karen Klosowski
Senior Regulatory Advisor
Karen specializes in managing and providing environmental regulatory compliance and permitting services, environmental impact assessments, and resource studies related to energy, recreation, visual, and land planning resources. She conducts project review under regulatory requirements associated with the Federal Power Act, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. She prepares environmental documents for hydroelectric relicensing, license amendment and compliance-related applications for private sector utility clients. She has completed numerous relicensing and compliance Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) under contract to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Karen has experience in the FERC Integrated Licensing Process (ILP), the Traditional Licensing Process (TLP), and the Alternative Licensing Process (ALP).
Karen has a M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, M.S.in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and B.S. in Parks and Recreation from Pennsylvania State University.
