Lauren Chamblin
Senior Project Manager
“I was drawn to Kleinschmidt by the excitement, knowledge, and authenticity of the key resources of the firm – its people. I’m excited to join a team of hydropower experts and contribute meaningfully to projects that serve our community and protect the environment.”
Lauren is a Senior Project Manager with 18 years of experience in the water resources field, spanning from an early career conducting stream, biological and water quality assessments to more recently leading strategic initiatives to meet water, wastewater, and stormwater regulatory requirements. Her technical background in environmental science with a focus in water quality has led to wide-ranging project experience in the regulatory realm, specifically for compliance with the Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and the Water Resources Development Act.
She has over 15 years of project management experience, both as a consultant for federal and local clients, and as an owner while working in the public sector. She has managed projects across multiple disciplines, including ecosystem restoration, reservoir management, asset management, watershed protection, source water quality protection, hydrology/flood studies, and large- and small-scale data analysis efforts. Her diverse project experience includes supporting pre-application activities for hydropower relicensing and developing license surrender and exemption applications for dam removal. In her role at Kleinschmidt, she will be a leader of cross-functional teams providing environmental, engineering, and regulatory support to clients.
Lauren has an M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Georgia. She is a member of the American Water Works Association and the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.
