Olivia Smith specializes in coordinating with utilities to meet Federal and State regulatory requirements, engage with Tribal communities, and minimize the impacts of water dependent energy projects. She has experience with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) licensing, National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA)/State Environmental Protection Act (SEPA) processes, Section 106 Consultation, and settlement negotiations. Olivia is responsible for coordinating study teams, developing applications and permits, and consulting with Tribes and regulatory agencies.
She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado, where she played lacrosse and attended a sustainability and environmental action program in Australia. Further training that Olivia has been involved in includes an Overview of Tribal Sovereignty and Federal Consultation, Northwest Hydroelectric Association Fall Regional Workshop, and Facilitation Skills Fundamentals.
