Stuart Beck, Ph.D., P.E.

Senior Engineering Consultant, Hydraulics and Hydrology

Stuart has 37 years of experience in performing field, laboratory and numerical studies of hydraulic engineering, watershed hydrology, water quality, and fluvial geomorphologic aspects of projects in the hydroelectric, environmental, mining, and water supply industries. He has specialized training and experience in sediment transport and in fisheries habitat and passage enhancement in gravel-bed rivers. He has written customized code using a FORTRAN compiler to solve unique questions related to unsteady flow conditions, fish habitat analyses, and manifold design. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Geophysical Union (AGU), and the International Association for Hydraulic Research (IAHR).  Stuart is a registered professional engineer in California and British Columbia. He has taught classes in Fluid Mechanics and Surface Water Hydrology at Seattle University.

Stuart obtained his Ph.D. in Hydraulic engineering from the University of Minnesota. He has an M.Sc. In Hydraulic Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta.
