Tim Saville is a Senior Engineering Consultant that has been with Kleinschmidt for over 5 years and has 29 years of hydro industry experience in operations and maintenance support, construction management, and consulting engineering. He is experienced in the development of new hydroelectric generating facilities and the design of maintenance and rehabilitation solutions for large and small hydroelectric facilities. Tim provides construction and constructability assessment consulting and performs engineering inspections and condition assessment evaluations. He has experience participating in formal value engineering assessments and leading due diligence efforts on hydro projects. Tim’s unique career experience helps to direct his engineering solutions to be both operations friendly and constructible. Tim also has administrative experience including project troubleshooting, strategic alliance contract management, mentoring, and asset management programming as well as process and procedure development. He rigorously applies project management methodologies to project planning, execution, and control.
Some of Tim’s most recent projects include dam repair design; preliminary riverbank structural assessment; embankment repair investigation and design; upstream eel passage design; value engineering study; conceptual geotechnical design for shoreline restoration; QA/QC management, conceptual design, and cost estimate; substructure investigation; intake & ice sluice assessment and rehabilitation; dam condition assessments; concrete deck rehabilitation; penstock replacement design; permitting and construction support.
Tim has a B.Eng. and Mgmt. in Civil Engineering and Management from McMaster University and is an active member of Professional Engineers Ontario, the Ontario Waterpower Association (OWA), and the Canadian Dam Association (CDA). He is licensed to practice engineering in Ontario.
