Business Sector Leader Power and Energy
Tim is a Business Sector Leader of Power and Energy and has been with Kleinschmidt for 24 years with over 31 years of industry experience. He specializes in the management of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) licensing efforts for hydroelectric projects and has specific experience preparing National Environmental Policy Act documents, environmental permitting support documents, and designing and conducting environmental studies, primarily in the areas of fish passage, minimum flow, and water quality.
Tim has managed the relicensing of numerous conventional and pumped storage hydroelectric projects as well as the licensing of new hydroelectric and marine energy projects. His most recent projects include FERC License Amendment; Pumped Storage Development Phase I Design; FERC Relicensing; Low Flow Impact Analysis Studies.
In addition to his technical work, Tim has also managed Kleinschmidt’s licensing, dam safety, fish passage, and marine renewable service areas and Kleinschmidt’s mid-Atlantic office in Pennsylvania. In his current role, Tim is responsible for providing overarching strategy and leadership for Kleinschmidt’s Power and Energy business throughout North America. Tim served two terms on the National Hydropower Association (NHA) Board of Directors and is currently a Co-Chair of NHA’s Marine Energy Council.
